Default IBM ThinkPad - Problem Installing RAM

Hello.

I have an IBM ThinkPad A20m Type 2628. I just bought a 256MB Samsung PC133 SDRAM SODIMM for it.

With the module installed, the machine powers on and does not initiate the BIOS sequence. No screen output, no error beeps. I've tried installing in either bay and the result is the same.

Could this be caused by an incompatibility? Any suggestions?
