HP zv6000 issues

I am repairing an HP zv6000 and it has got me stumped.

It's an HP zv6123cl
AMD Athlon64 3200+
512MB RAM
80GB HDD

It wasn't booting into Windows and was stalling on a black screen after the POST screen. I ran DBAN and wiped the entire HDD, I tried installing Windows XP and it hung at "Setup is starting Windows." I then ran MemTest86 and HP's HDD Test, both PASSED.

The computer will not boot a GParted disc, it hangs at a black screen after I select a method for it to boot with. I tried booting UBCD, it scrolled through the usual text then hung at a black screen.

I have tried XP over and over, I have gained no new ground and I am stumped. Any suggestions?
