hiya everyone.
I need to get Vista back into my Acer 9410z laptop. I don't really know how to go about doing that. I don't want to buy a boot disc or purchase Vista since I already have a serial number. Sadly, this model laptop has no hidden partitions with Vista restore or anything so that leaves me basically screwed. lol Any ideas what to do? I can get a working wired internet connection to the laptop if that helps at all, I don't really know. Also, I'm not really great when it comes to computers, but I havn't been living under a rock either. Thanks! |

first you should get a bootable disk which contains Partition Magic (floppy/cd/dvd). I found some on torrent sites with the All Windows package (contains all versions of windows/ms-dos from 1 to 2003), and it also contained some very good recovery tools, including partition magic. It is very usefully for formatting, creating... with just a word, managing partitions. (only if you need to)
Then you should get vista. I'm not sure about this, but you could try the trial version and insert your serial nr to remove the trial, but i'm not sure if it works. Last edited by chibicitiberiu; 08-11-2008 at 07:48 PM. |

Nope, no restore disc.
Also, uhm, I'm kinda new to all this and don't really know what partition magic does. Also, I have a valid serial number for Vista on the bottom of the laptop aha, so would it be illigal still to download it?

I know the rules, man, but I think all of you thought about this, but not wrote it. I'm not encouraging illegal torrents, and not using them very often (just for getting some movies
), but it's a reality and we have to accept it.And by the way, are you some sort of robot with automatic answering to key words like "torrent" or "illegal" ?

You can purchase the recovery disks from Acer. By suggesting that method, you're encouraging it, IMO.
