Default PNY Quadro FX 3000

Hey guys i seen this video card, and i was wondoring if it was worth what it sais it is... I mean... $1900 holy shit. thats like the price of my pc!!! Whats the deal with this card?

It's a professional workstation card, it's not meant for gaming or to be bought by Joe 6-pack.

so a 6800 ultra would be better then that for gaming?

Workstation cards have a different driver system. They are built for pixel precision and capacity, not cranking out pixels as fast as possible. These workstation cards run on a different 3D mode (full open GL too), usually NOT DirectX. CADD, professional video editing, and creating 3D models (Pixar stuff, CG, etc.) are some of the purposes of this card. Running it with games would result in a very choked frame rate.......as DirectX is not usually used or compatible.
