Default Need help with new updates/drivers please

Well, With the new computer assembled for the most part, I am needing some help with installing the fine tuning of the machine. The only part that I am missing is my new video card. I have a ATI 4870 X2 on order and it will be here on monday so temporarily I have a 8800gts in its place.

With that said, I need to know what drivers and updates to install. I have installed all the Vista64 updates from the internet and I installed The motherboard driver from its disk but thats about it.

Do I need to update or tweak bios? I am not really too sure I want to get into overclocking or not. I do not have a great amount of knowledge on programing.

So with that said, here is what is in the machine:

Thank you very much for your help

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong area.

OOH YEAH, the reason I am asking about this is because every time I start up a game the system crashes and reboots.

If you're not into OCing I can't see why you would bother messing around with BIOS... unless the computer performs worse than it should/you'd expect it to, there's no need to tweak anything in BIOS. Programming knowledge has nothing to do with OCing or BIOS settings. I would only update drivers if you're having a problem with the current ones, or there's some other good reason to install newer drivers, as sometimes installing new drivers causes problems. The drivers (usually) can be found on the component's manufacturer's website, if you need to update, though.

EDIT: I just saw your edit... yea there might be a problem, but you need to be a little more specific if possible. "Crash and reboot" can be caused by a thousand different reasons.

Here is the message I get. It only flashes up for a couple seconds then starts to reboot. So far it only does it when I try and open games, that I have noticed. Does this mean anything to you? I do not know enough to figure out what is going on. THx
