I have a hard drive that I am not not using anymore, with my files from my previous computer that ran Vista and had a DX10 card in it. My question is, if I were to plug it into a computer of mine, that has a DX9 7900GS card, would I run into any problems, before I got to change the drivers.
Thanks.

You shouldn't. And even if you did, just boot into safe mode then change the drivers.
