I want to be able to view the coming and goings of my children while I am work. They are good eggs but want to keep everything on the up and up with them.
Having never used a webcam before could I simply sign into Yahoo chat turn it on in the morning and watch it from my work computer? Or would I need to get some sort of motion activated camera that records to a hard drive? If so what are some inexpensive alternatives? Feel free to email me at my email if you prefer not to post this publicly. Thanks |

why not just use a real CCD that connects through cat5 for ease of installation etc.

I would use a web cam. Here is one I have installed in the past, that is quick and easy, and around your price range. It also functions well in low lighting, since it has night vision capabilities.
