Default Dll error

I was trying to remove the windows xp system software and trying to downgrade back to windows 2000 pro and now there is a DLL error. I don't have the XP disk but I have the windows 2000 Disk. I tried unplugging and extra drives except the cd drives. When it boots up it does the usual thing then in the login window it gives the dll error message. Can someone help me.
