Default Building a desktop

Hi,
I haven't been around here much lately but im baaack. So, my question pertains to the building of a desktop computer(obviously). So, im looking into building a desktop that really doesnt need much. It will be basically just for internet use. No high speed gaming or anything like that. About how much would the components be to build a simple desktop like that? I have an old computer that is pretty much just scrap parts because the floppy drive is dead and the thing won't boot without it. All the hardware on the comp seems to be in decent condition besides the HDD and the floppy drive. I suppose what I'm asking is is it worth it to revive this oldie or build a new one. Also, approxomately how much would it cost to do either? Thanks for any help you can give. Sorry if this is kind of jumbled.

Go dig up the specs on that oldie before building anything new, then we will tell you if it's good enough for your tasks.

Here's a list of working components from the old comp.

-AGI 235 watt power supply
-A video card marked "S3 ViRGE On Board R1C3AD"
-65536K total memory
-Pentium S processor @ 150mHz
-Mitsumi "Quad Speed" (4X) CD-ROM Drive

I plan to purchase a HDD for it, a wireless card, but for the most part, I think it would work fine for my needs if the new parts were compatible, I just want someopinions from people that know more than me. Thanks.

I don't want to spend too much. It doesn't need to be a top of the line machine, just something able of email, IM, and just plain surfing. I was hoing to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-150, but I don't know how possible it is.
20gig- I don't think that would make much sense. First, It's a little (way) out of my price range(yes, i know it's less in american, but its still more than I'm willing) plus my current demands don't come close to what that machine offers. Thanks for the thought though, I guess

Also,(this just crossed my mind while I was typing) I do have another computer that I could use for the project. It's not a scrapper, but I could probably upgrade. I'll get some specs if you guys want. Thanks.

im just saying that b/c my dad uses a 350mhz intel and it works pretty bad at everything, i would recommend at lest a 1ghz processor, u can get them very cheap
also get 256mb ram
and the mobo, that and u should be good

just let us know what processor you would like, if ur thinking about getting a new one, and well go from there

ripken2004, what would the hardware you mentioned cost? I don't have a job or anything, I'm just a teenager and my funds are pretty limited. I'm thinking 1ghz would be fine if it's not too costly. Also, what do you think about the RAM from at Best Buy? That would probably be the place I'd go for it. Thanks for the help.
