Reinstalling internet explorer?

I have a dell pc, the only way i can get in the net is if i use AOL. I don't want to use aol for my internet surfing. Every time i open internet exlorer, it says i can not find the server. But i can connect using my internet broadband with aol. Is there a way that i can reinstall internet explorer or resolve the connection problem?

Sounds like a bad winsock, try downloading and running this , then reboot and see if it works.
