Default does a microphone need drivers? mine wont work...

Ok heres the problem, i have a logitech usb mic pluged in but it wont work ingame, i go to control panel then manage sound device and the green bar lights up when i make noise so something works... But when I try to set it up in the microsoft setup wizzard it doesn`t acknowledge my voice... and when I go ingame and try the mic test the green bar doesn`t light up


i`ve tried playing around with the settings in the audio devices on both ends, ingame and in the audio settings on my pc but still can`t get it too work.... can you help me pleaseÉ

Microphones usually don't need drivers. It should just be plug and play. Try messing with your audio settings.

Being a Logitech and a USB one, then yes, you will need drivers (i think).

Also, check that it isn't muted under the sound settings.

a) is it muted
b) is the recording source set to the right port

and no it dont need drivers in 2k or above. It shows up as "usb composite device". Windows has drivers built in.
