Default Adhoc troubles :(

Ok, before anyone tells me to go out and buy a router, I can't afford to be wasting money like that right now, and this is my only option.

Now for the problem.

My laptop (running Vista) receives the internet via a Kyocera wireless pc card.
My desktop (running XP) connects to an adhoc network (via a Nintendo USB adapter that's been turned into a SoftAP, which I now use for adhoc; with internet connection sharing enabled on both machines) that I setup on my laptop using my WLAN card (built in to the laptop).

I've had the network up and running for a few months now with no problems, both systems were getting the internet. Now all of a sudden when I create a new adhoc network (I do this every so often with no problems, until now), the desktop won't receive the internet. It says that both systems are connected (desktop says "connected shared" like it always does), ICS is enabled (I checked all of the boxes in the settings).

Vista (the laptop) keeps coming up with a message telling me I have an IP address conflict. I have no idea how to resolve that as I'm not using a router.

This has never happened before. Does anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Default

Check the IP address for all the Network cards and see is any of them are the same, In which case change the last three digits to eliminate the conflict.
