Default External HDD Enclosure - Few Questions

Hey I have a question about External HDD enclosures and using them as the primary boot device to load windows XP. If I use a HDD enclosure that has Sata to eSata will I be able to boot into it just as if it was installed in the computer. I have an old 500GB sata HDD that has windows XP installed on it. I would like to get an enclosure for it so I can load windows XP and access the original files. Would a HDD enclosure with a USB connection be able to boot just as if it was an internal sata drive (Of course not counting the simple bios setting change).

I recently bought a great external HD encloser... It supports SATA, ESATA, PATA, IDE, and im sure there was one more, and it just goes into a USB port, and also needs power.

It was £35 from PCWorld...

Just been looking on their website, but I cant find it....

I think I found one I may be interested in.

Thermaltake MAX4 Active Cooling

It doesn't have Firewire however USB and eSata are the main connectors I am after. I like the Blue LED fan too. It will match my Antec 900 Case.
