Should I station the ported side of my subwoofer against a wall?

I personally own the Logitech Z-2300 (might I say, a fantastic set of hardwares), but I am having trouble deciding how I should station the subwoofer. The subwoofer have two bass outputs, a sealed one at the front and a ported one on the left. I know the sealed end can be aimed anywhere (because it is sealed) but I was wondering where I should station the ported end. I wanted it to go next to a wall (I'm lacking room space) but since air gets blown out of it, I fear that might disrupts the bass.

Any suggestions or insights would be wonderful.

For the most bass you should put it againt a wall or wood floor, this will send out the most vibrations. Experiment with it.

ya wood floors are awsum, vibrates to much that ull love it except when stuff starts falling and braking from all of the shaking, lol

you wanna place it in a corner with the port facing a solid wall, if your wall is studded it may sound awful..

I have an enclosed section where my computer tower is suppose to go in my desk. I put my subwoofer in there faced down and closed the door and it sounds really good.

I dont know if your able to move ur computer out of there, I had to because it didnt allow my computer to keep cool enough..

Experiment with it.

p.s. good dvd burner isnt it? I burned like 400 dvds on mine so far... no probs

don't but it against a wall... you will definately attenuate the output... and ruin your paint too! for the best resonance, place it in a corner with a few inches of space around it...

a trick i always did with home theater subs is put the actual sub in your seat where you will be sitting... and walk around until it sounds real good... then put the sub there. hopefully you have some room to move around.
