Default How would I install windows xp pro over a current installation

How would I install windows xp pro over a current installation of the same xp pro without deleting everything . I just want to replace some files on the current installation by installing over it.

are you trying to repair files? if you are, just pop in the XP cd you have, and pick repair files

When I try to use the Repair console it is asking me for the adm. password . The guy that owns tthis computer bought it from a computer shop that has since closed and he has no idea what the password in because he has never set one. When he boots up he has never been asked for one so he was serprized when I told him I needed it . So I was thinking that installing over the current xp pro would replace the files that are messed up .
