Default Time for a change =[

Well guys, sorry to say, but my ASUS Eee PC was just burnt to a crisp. Well, not really, but something happened to it, and the motherboard got fried. I don't feel like paying 300$ to get it repaired so I am just going to get a new laptop for college. (the warrenty ran out)

I like to play games, but not graphicaly intense ones (ex. crysis). I mostly play Battlefield 2, and occasionaly Counter-Strike Source (sorry 1.6 lovers).

My Desktop computer is at my parents house, and I only usually go there about 1 time a week, just to check up on them, now-and-then. I have a budget around $500.

Heres the laptops i've been looking at. Tell me which one is better =]

COMPAQ Presario CQ50:

OR

HP Pavilion dv6815nr:

Any help, or suggestions is appreciated

I would say go with the compaq, as it's new.

Are you sure you want to go with a 15.4" laptop for college? I mean lugging 6 lbs around isn't exactly easy. I would suggest going with a 14.1" one.

I have a 17" and carry that thing EVERYWHERE in my backpack. Doesn't bother me any lol I usually walk a good 1/2 mile from my car to class too (big A** campus).

Anyways, to help you choose. They are both pretty much the same, but I would probably choose the HP. The HP has the dedicated scroll on the touchpad (not sure about the campaq) and it also has an extra gig of memory. Your choice though.

Yes, im sure. Im 6'4 lol. I'd look pretty stupid carrying around a small laptop. And anyways, im strong enough to lug around 6 lbs a day.

Heh, I wish the United States would convert to the Metric System -.-

Anyways, people use to make fun of me when they saw me carrying around the little ASUS Eee, I'd have to type with one hand on it.

I see. Do you have a maximum budget? Newegg isn't that best place to buy laptops, their selection is pretty limited.

well I really can't go over $500. I spent most of my money on my desktop, and on my ASUS Eee
