Default TV recording program? HELP!

I've been looking to buy a TV Recording program for a long time. A lot of people told me to buy a Dazzle since it's the king or something of television recording. The only problem was that Dazzle doesn't work with Vista.

Does anyone know a hardware I can hook up to my Television and record what's on it and hook up the other end with a USB cable into my Laptop so it transforms into hard drive memory and not have to burn it on a DVD? Dazzle did that but it's only for XP.

I want to record me playing my Wii to shove it on Youtube but have it be converted into computer memory.

Vcrs have tv tuners in them where you either connect an antenna, cable box, or satellite hookup for recording shows for tv viewing. For external recording for playback on pc or simply feeding in from a camcorder you need a video capture or tv tuner/capture card for pc that will save in either mpeg II or avi format.

Captures from a camcorder can then be uploaded online. The option to burn to disk is then simply done with a burning program where you can take the disk and play it on any dvd player or dvd drive. Softwares for Vista however are hard to find even after 1.5yrs!

I know this from working with different makes and models seeing only a few that actually work software wise. The replacement card just installed here stated Vista compatible while nothing is displayed. I'm on the support team's case about that.

A live feed into one that does work fully in Vista will see captures in video files not computer memory. That's a totally different item there being hardware. Most brands offer a usb capture device as well as the PCI type for patching a live feed in.

You simply start the record with either a mouse click on a button in the applications or with a remote that most come with(PCI type). Once you start recording please note that video captures will eat up hard drive space rather fast. If the laptop only sees an 80-100gb drive you won't be able to record much without first deleting previous captures.
