I have a 7 year old pc with a genuine copy of windows xp home installed on it. Thing is, to install on it you use 2 recovery cd's. So now i have a more modern pc, I want to run a genuine version of xp on that one and get rid of my old un. Of course the recovery discs just kick up errors due to different components and crashes. The old machine has it's genuine number on it so how will i get xp home to work on my new pc? I don't have a cd with xp on just the old recovery discs. Will microsoft send me 1 for a small fee? Or will moving hard drive to my new computer work?
