!!!!comp making f_uked up sound!!help
well my old comp has made this sound for a long time since i got it
but i never new what it was till i opend it and lisening.. its like when i open a program or close it its writing 2 the hd but its making a crackling noise.. well my computer in my room is a peace any way.. but here are the specs -win 98 -intel p2 266mhz -4 gb hard drive{thats whats making the noise} -32 mb ram -intel geniune mobo its old that might be he problrm of the sound what do i do 2 make it stop ? |

Some older hard drives can be quite noisy. The crackling sound could just be the hard drive head moving backwards and forwards very quickly. If it's only recently got worse you might consider upgrading your hard drive just in case it fails in the future.
