Cant open pdf direct off a website!

i used to be able to just click the pdf link on the site and adobe will start, now i have to right clik and save it then open it. can anyone help?

are there any updates for adobe? I had this problem from time to time, it would just freeze waiting for my inout on a dialog that wasn't created.

edit,preferences,internet, make sure all checkboxes are checked... and also update like cromewell said.
