+3.3@28A, +5@52A, +12@28A
Which is enough to convey the critical information

Minimums
If you're buying a PSU for any machine that isnt described as "horribly-antiquated" (i.e., Pentium4 or AthlonXP class or newer) than there are some minimum you should look for ... namely this means a minimum of 24A on the 12V rail. Power users shouldnt be considering anything short of 30A. It should be noted that 16ms is the almost-universal minimum for hold-up time. Lastly, voltage regulation should be within 3% (although the absolute bare minimum is 5%) with very few PSUs hitting 1% regulation)
Read that part over...the cases you listed had a PSU with ~18 Amps on the +12V rail. It's reccommended to get at least a +12V rail with 24A...however going with more would not be a bad idea

So it looks like I was about to be ripped off! What amps would I need on the 12V rail for a true 500W psu?

Edit: Also, I'm planning on using AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with this.

Not really...you get what you pay for . For your system I would get at least a +12V rail @ 24A. I couldn't really tell you exactly as I've never had a system like the one you plan on purchasing. Maybe someone else can comment

Would it be okay if I bought a psu with more amps than i need on the 12v rail? It would still run fine right?

Except that both of those PSUs have 18A on the 12V rail. Now IMO it isn't critical to have more than 18A, but if you're going to buy a new PSU you might as well get one with >24A.

... 500w for just that? yea right..... for a 3000+, a 480, or even a 450w is enough. but anyways, if u want a case then:
Except wattage count means jack shit.

Why send a link to someone too lazy to read it? Especially if links have been posted listing all sorts of stuff (with links from there too)?
