Default WD MyBook Problem

Attempting to help a friend of mine. When she plugs in her External hard drive it automatically copies all of her pictures and files to it. When she deletes said pictures/files from her computer it removes/deletes it from her hard drive as well. Any ideas? Western Digital 1TB MyBook on XP.

Any WD Apps that are on the MyBook drive itself need to be wiped off. Those File apps that WD puts on there sometimes go too far with backups and such. I just wiped the entire drive when I bought mine. See if this works and if not then you are that much closer to the problem with knowing that it's a Windows setting.
