video playback lag

when i open a video file it media player classic saids opening... and then after maybe 10-15 secs it will open. what could be the problem? never happen before.

Try defragmenting your HDD. Sounds like its just taking a long time to access to file. My guess is that your HDD is fragmented and also check out how many processes you have running.....too many processes will bog down your computer.
