ok so my hardrive has in all 455 gigs of space available
and it says im using 235 of it but when i actually access the hadd and select everything go to prperties it tells me im only using 147 WHERE THE HELL did the other 88 gigs of hdd space go? that and after repartitioning my hdd i noticed that another partition was created called PQSERVICE and it is a 9 gig partition and is only using 6 gigs of it anyone know what that is? im affraid to touch it becuase i do not know what is in it i cant access it or rather i do not know how to any input would help thanks

There are hidden&system files&folders galore - you need to enable viewing hidden files in Folder Options. I think there also was an option to hide system files checked by default, you need to disable that as well if you want to view the files - I would leave them alone, though. The files are hidden for a reason.

that is showing all system files and pointless updates history and everything it is straight from my hdd all i can come up with is i need to defrag but i dont know of any good ones the one on vista sucks dick
and free good ones that i can WATCH the progress to make sure it is working? |

Some free ones include defraggler (www.defraggler.com), umm... yea, that's all I could come up with.
However, I would go in Disk Management and see if you've even partitioned all available space on the disc. If you notice something weird, post a screenshot. If you have unallocated space on the disc, the easiest way to deal with it would be to simply create a new partition on the unallocated space. However, if you want your existing partition to fill up all the space instead, you'll need to get a tool like GParted (should have this function, but not 100% sure) or Partition Magic to resize the partition for you.
