Default Network help..

Hi,I have a network problem. ( sorry if there are similar threads to this one )
I am using a cross-over cable with RJ45 PLUGS.

Basically both of the computers are connected and they both say ''Connected'' on the LAN settings.

But on Comp B I still can't go on the net.

These are my specs

Comp A

Intel Celeron 1.1 GHZ
256 DDR Ram
40 GB Seagate
Some intergrated thing >_>
XP Home
*THE ONE WITH THE NET*

Comp B

AMD Athlon XP 2600+
256 DDR RAM
80GB MAxtor + 60 GB Seagate
nVidia nForce 2 >_>
XP PRO + SP2
*THE ONE WITHOUT THE NET*

I would get a router but I simply can't afford one for another 3/4 weeks and I really need to use the internet in that time, thanks for you're time

On Computer A that has the internet, have you set it to relay the internet to computer B?

Thanks for the reply.
*quick update*

I've tried the winsockxpfix thing and I done it on both computers, still no luck.
For some strange reason when I set the IP/TCP to manuel like I pick my own IP address,I get disconnected. This problem has been buggering me for quite a while now

are both using TCP/IP and both have the same network ID (rightclick mycomputer, properties, computer name, network ID button)? Also you'll need to have compatable TCP/IP settings on each or it won't work.
