If it goes to windows, it ain't fried. If you want to format it, go to dos, type in fdisk c: (or something of the sort, I don't do DOS, and I don't do win98 )

Boot to C prompt. Fdisk.exe to run the partitioning program, add/delete/change the partition you want to. Do what it says and go back to the C prompt. Type format c:/ and follow what it says to do. Mind you if you wanted to format you could also do it through the Win98SE disk I do believe.

if you go to "C:\windows\cabs" (something like that, maybe C:\windows\options, or C:\windows\options\cabs) it should have an object called "setup.exe" you might want to try running this before reformatting. It reinstalls windows98, and, from my experience, fixes almost all problems with the OS. <removed for stupidity>
