Default steampowered

Does anyone know how you get the games that you buy from steampowered.com? Do they just download to your harddrive or do they send you the disks through the mail?

You download the steam client, and put in the account name you created.. You click on the games and download them. Nothing over mail. Rather easy.

well, what i've done is buy the games from a store or online (Half life 2, cz) and then once there installed, they go on your steam account. Meaning that if you lost the original disks, or want to play it at a friends house, you just login to steam and download your games. But if you buy it thru steam, i would think that you just right click and press "purchase" and then it gets downloaded into your account.

Yes, you are correct... You can download the game anywhere with your account name logged in. I think the downloading is a better method. But I would save your credit card receipt saying you purchased online. Many people get hacked and a hacker changes their password, takes their account. The only way to get back is to show receipt...

Just download the steam client, make an account and buy a package deal.. fairly simple.

although, if you have dial-up or a low speed broadband connection, downloading the games can be quite long. (HL2 is about 4Gb, and CS:S is about 3-4GB)
