Default Which Asus Eee PC?

I'm stuck between 3 different models, the first two are only $20 apart which seems like a great deal for a 6-cell battery and 1.3MP camera, but I don't like the look of it, the border around the LCD screen just seems a bit much. Which one you you recommend?

Option One - $329.99:

Windows XP Home
8.9" LCD @ 1024x600
Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
1GB DDR2
160GB SATA
0.3MP Webcam
4-Cell Battery
2.49 lbs.

Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz
1GB DDR2
160GB SATA
1.3MP Webcam

Option 3 because of the bigger screen. The 8.9 inch screen becomes bothersome to look at if you are going to be using the pc for an extended amount of time

That's what I was thinking, I just wish that one was on sale.

i'm not sure what you expect out of an Eee, but i actually would not recommend one. i have one and these are the pros/cons that i have with them.

first of all, the keyboard is just so small. you'd be surprised at the actual size of it (if you haven't seen one in real life). in the first few days of using, i fat finger the keys lol (and dont think dirty!).

second, the display is rather small after using a 21" monitor for a few years now. it's just annoying when you can see everything on the same page and have to keep constantly scrolling.

3rd, i dont know if it's with all Eee's, but i can't upgrade my memory from 512mb to 2gb. the memory chips are soldered on there.

the last bad point is since i got the model with SSD, the horrible jmitron SSD controller causes momentary lag and pauses in everything i do. but it looks like that wont be a problem since you're getting the HDD versions.

other than that, it's extremely mobile and convenient. if you looking for ultra portable laptops, i would look into MSI wind or Dell's mini if you want more options of choose from

The MSI wind was rated the best netbook by PC magazine

Out of those, i'd go for option three because of the larger screen. The other one's look like hell.

Ouch, the third one costs the same as a regular lappy almost. Its a 100 more for just 1.1 inches of lcd space.

yup, that's why i picked the "other" option, meaning none of those Eee.

I want to use it in my truck as a mobile computer. I tested using my 14.1" Acer but it is WAY too big and heavy, I want something small, portable, and has good battery life (which was the big turn off for the Acer, HP, and MSI for me). All 3 of those models can be upgraded with a 2GB stick of DDR2. I checked into HP and Dell's versions, but they use SSD's which again is a turn off for me, as I want to put a fair amount of media on it.

Also, I went to Staples and tested the Acer Aspire One which is an 8.9" version, and I really liked it, I just didn't like how the touchpad buttons were on the side.

I agree that #2 looks awful.

Not just that, it also comes with a 6-cell versus 4-cell battery, a 1.3MP versus 0.3MP Webcam, larger keyboard, and free shipping.

I'll just tell you guys, I bought #3 in pearl white.

i guess if batter was that important to you, then your choices are pretty limited then, unless you want to get a car power adapter and pair it with the MSI or Dell

second one amount those 3.

Or $350 MSI wind.
adventage - 10" screen for the same price
disadvantages - 3-cell battery, 120GB HDD
