Default can laptops be overclocked?

I am wondering if laptops can be overclocked like desktops? Because one of my favorite game likes a fast processor. I'm thinking of getting this laptop sometime in March and I wanted to know if you can overlcock laptop processors. Or would a desktop be better all around.
