Thumbs up Microsoft Live Cashback - Up to 25% @ ebay

Some of you may have seen this on the interwebz.

Microsoft has a cashback promotion tied to their Live search engine. At ebay, you can get 25% cashback on eligible items. In order to take advantage of the cashback offer, you need to complete a few steps. I'll show you how to do it.

1) You need to be signed into a Live/Hotmail/MSN related email account, and own a PayPal account. Register for Free Live Account; Free PayPal Account. Go to the Live Cashback homepage and setup your cashback account as well.

2) Go to the Live Search homepage and type in "PS3," or follow this link for the direct search results.

^ Above the search results, you want to click on the sponsored site banner labeled: "You may get 25% off with PayPal if eligible." After you click on the link and enter the site, ignore the PS3 items (unless that's what you want), and feel free to search for whatever you'd like at ebay. If you don't see the banner, ur doin' it rong, or the promotion has ended. If the promotion has ended, be sure to check back every couple days. It's been running off and on for a couple months now. Not too long ago, M$ offered 30% at ebay.

Once you find something you like, click the "Buy It Now" button.

You will be directed to either an "Enter Quantity" or "Commit to Buy" page. If you've selected an eligible item, you should see the cashback banner. On the Commit to Buy page, you'll be given the exact amount of your cashback award. Below are a few screenshots of what you should see...

Quantity...

Commit to Buy...

If you don't see the banner, this item is ineligible. When I purchased a Sigma telephoto lens for my wife, I had to search around and click Buy it Now on several links until I found one that was eligible.

DO NOT click on the "Commit to Buy" button unless you have full intentions on purchasing the item. Clicking this button binds you into a legal contract.

If you've purchased an eligible item, go to your cashback account and the rewards should be pending. Here's an example from the Sigma lens I purchased...

Notes:

- Unfortunately, I think this offer is for the US only. In other words, if you live in the UK, you can't get the cashback at the ebay UK site. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

- This is for Buy it Now items only.

- In 60 days, you get your cashback.

- Other sites are participating in the cashback program with similar rewards. At the Foot Locker site, you can get 20% cashback. The full list of participating businesses is available at the Cashback Homepage
