Default New to Laptop World

Hi all,
I am new to the laptop stuffs but I've been building computers for years now (desktops).
I currently have a tablet PC (Toshiba), which is required for my school but it's a complete junk. So I decided to get the real laptop that's useful.

I will be using it to play WoW, CFD, Unigraphics (CAD), and other bunch of programs.

Some questions regarding recent products.

That's my original post and I was thinking of going for desktop but I am leaning toward laptop depending on what kind of responses I get based on what I will be doing.

If I go for the laptop route, I will use separate monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc and I won't be physically using the computer itself. (I hope it makes some sense).

Though I am not going for 15" monitor...I will definately go for the biggest.

I am planning on purchasing within a month if not within a week.
Thank you!
