Do it!

My comp is mainly setup as a DAW. And right now its mainly just me recording on it, so I have lots of vsti and inserts on my tracks. Gets confusing switching through the tracks, vst windows, tempo tracks, mixers, and hundreds of other things, so it nice to have them spreadout through a couple of monitors.

I like using it for videos too. Premiere on one screen, AE on the other.

Photoshop doesnt need it as much, at least not for me, but if im learning some new effect (switched to cs4, so some fun new things to learn and get used to in there) and having the internet window on one monitor to reference with PS on the main display.

So do it!

Personally I hate dual monitor, but that's because I have multiple systems in my room, it's nice having a dedicated system per monitor,

They are very good, but you need the same size and resolution otherwise it will bug you. I had a 15" monitor with my 15.4" (w/s) laptop and i was constantly hvaing to resize windows when I dragged them across.

I kept flying off the side of the screen when I was rocking two 15" screens (hell yeah), found it plenty annoying.

If you had to hold down a mouse button to cross to another screen I'd find it infinately cool. There's probably an option/addon/program that lets me do that actually. But one 24" is plenty for the moment.

I didn't really think dual moniters was necessary until I decided to take the plunge, now I never want to have a PC without a dual monitor setup.
