Default cod4 long wait time

Sometimes when I play on a server I have to wait a minute or two when it changes map on the part that says waiting for server to load map. Now I know it's not the server causing it because I've been getting it on other servers and other players weren't getting it.

It also doesn't always happens, sometimes it's fine and usually I'm the first on the server to connect, but sometimes because of the wait I'm last.

Any ideas?

I think it depends on your Ping, Ram and Graphics settings.

The lower everything is (ping, graphics settings, ram usage), the faster it will load... I think...

try turning anything that is using the internet off and see if it makes a difference.

Maybe by chance all the servers you tested were like that...?

I have 4 gigs of ram and a nice triple core processor, I normally join first in a server in CSS (Havent installed Cod4 B/c I ordered a g-card to play it)I think it depends on your computer.
