for £150 - £200, why dont you get a 5.1 set up? have a look on Ebuyer ive bought many stuff form them, or have alook at Aria and Novatech. ive bought from all 3 of these places, although novatech is about a 5 mile drive so i went and picked up in store

For around 150 pounds, go for the excellent quality Logitech Z-5500D 5.1 speakers <--- really beautiful.

And yes, you're going to need a damn good sound card if you're going to purchase such high end speakers like the Z-5500D. Shop around and see if you can get a hold on the "HDA Digital X-Mystique 7.1" sound card <--- an absolute creation of God! If not, then go for the Audigy 2 ZS, it is also a very brilliant sound card.

Thanks for your help guys

Oh and just two more questions. Do you need any specific slot to be able to plug the speakers in through and are they combatible with Hi-Fis?
