Default how to restricted a removable drive?

how to lock the removable disk drive?
just lock that the
USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE...
or RESTRICTED....

can someone help me?

I've tried to look into this myself a while ago, as i got sick of getting virus's on my usb stick from customers pc's I didnt turn up much. It looks like the best way is to just get a thumb drive that has a lock switch on the side.

Are you trying to write protect it or disable the use of USB drives all together?

no not totally disable..

for protection... only..

the computer can detect your USB device... but once u open.
the message is appear is have a word RESTRICTED....

now if your USB have a VIRUS he cannot affected to your computer..

Set the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\StorageDevicePolicies\WriteProtect to 1 to weite protect or 0 to allow writing. You have to remove/reinsert the USB drive for it to take effect.
