Default Can't get any type of DVD's to burn

I am trying to burn an iso image on a DVD, but I can't get my DVD burner to recognize any kind of DVD formate. I've tried a DVD+R and that didn't, so I tried a DVD-R and I get a message that says: "please insert an appendable data disc and try again". Any ideas?

Yeah, that might be helpful, huh? Sorry about that, it's late. I'm using a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW242U.

Optical Drive
Internal CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive
(Max speeds: CD-R write 24x; CD-RW write 10x; CD Read
24x; DVD-ROM read 8x)

YEP- only a cd burner, not dvd

Just what I was about to say... Um, sony? Whatever...too lazy to look any more... From the name, though, that does seem like a combo drive...

By the way, the manufacturer is Quanta Storage Inc. (QSI).
