I am replacing my faulty WD6400AAKS hard drive with the Black series WD6400 (bit faster). My current Hard drive works, but is slowly dieing after only 4 months of use. It won't spin up during boot, and throws an I/O read error.
So I backed up my hard drive last night to a cheapo Cavalry 250gb, choosing to backup the entire computer which was 61 gigs. My question is 2 fold: 1.) When I install the new HD, do I just install Vista onto the new drive like it's a spanking new computer? 2.) Will Vista dispute my attempts to load all my backup'ed files onto the new hard drive? I know it can be fussy and I want to be ready. Thanks for the help
