Default How to access desktop from old hard drive?

I recently bought a new computer after my old one's motherboard bit the dust. The hard drive still works fine, so I removed it, put it in an enclosure and can read the hard drive fine, but can't get to the desk top. I can see all of the files on the hard drive just fine, but when I pull up Documents and Settings, I can't get into the HP Administrator folder, which I need to in order to view the desktop of the hard drive. Unless there is another way that I don't know about. The old hard drive was on an XP and the new computer has Vista, so I guess that could be a reason it throws up some security issues when I try to access that folder.

Any help?
