The best media would be what works for your drive the best. So far from reading in other forums and my self using this type would be Taiyo Yuden same as Fuji made in Japan only. Hope this helps you out.

the problem is some of the media i use doesnt work on certain DVD players. so was wanting to know the best media to use that will work on most or all DVD players, even if it is slighty pricey

Very true. You said you make DVD+R, so therefore they'll play on a reader that understands +R, but won't play on a reader that only knows -R.

It's a stupid format wars thing ... but many current players understand -R *and* +R ... older players tend to know one *or* the other.
That's the easy bit. The player manual you'll use states what it understands.

Now look at the recording surface. You'll see it ranges from near silver to purple depending on manufacturer and price.
This matters to some players as some can't read disks that are near purple but have no problems with disks that are near silver.

Why? .. I dunno. Someone here will though.

Still, stick to the lighter coloured disks (record side) and you should be OK.

IMO your drive is gonna burn no matter which brand you use. Just as long as the format is compatible with your drive.

Now that is important. Check your players here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers .... see what media works best.

You can prolly get around that with booktyping but then again im a -R exclusive guy

As for the original question on best media, IMO anything with a MCC by Mitsubishi or TY (Taiyo Yuden) or Moser Baer India
