Default How much will my performance improve?

I'm changing my 8500GT 256mb, which was a stupid mistake. I'll never go for a
_500 card again, Lol. I'm changing to a 9800GT 512mb, which should make some improvement, but the problem is my current processor will probably bottleneck it a lot.

It's a Core 2 Duo E4400 2.0GHz, in January i will hopefully be ordering a new processor though. Probably a Q6600.

How much of a change do you think the graphics card will make without a new processor too? I'm expecting not much, especially on the processor hungry Source games by VALVe.
