Default how to remove image from desktop screen?

once before I put an item onto my desktop and was able to remove it by dragging it to the recycle bin.
I should also be able to right-click to get the menu with the delete option

I captured an image from an internet site (for practice) and either set it as a desktop item or as background - but I can't get rid of it now (Oh no) -
when I use the right-click - all I get is a menu with:
active desktop
arrange icons
lineup icons
refresh
undo delete
new
properties

anything I've tried so far just won't get rid of this image.
(I've considered replacing it with one that I like better) - but - how do I remove this one?
Thanks again.

If you set it as your background, go Controlpanel>appearance and themes>change the desktop background.

will give it a try

- so I went to control panel then to desktop themes, where I could choose from among the options - like underwater, sports, jungle, 60s era, etc.
then by selecting a different theme, the image was gone (thank goodness), then I was able to go back again and select my original desktop theme as it was before.
Thanks
