You can get those pretty easily at local small computer shops, usually as an upgrade rather than directly (although I did manage to get a similar setup last year as a direct purcahse). Note that the mobo wasnt spec'd out quite possibly because its some cheapo low quality board (as well as probably being a 2MB hdd)

That comes to $425USD... you can drop the video card down a notch and up the CPU to match what you'r friend got. That's with about 3 minuites of searching and calling people up; with more searching you can get some neat prices
