I put 6 gigs of DDR2 1066 RAM into my motherboard and it's only running at 800.
Yes my motherboard is able to run 1066. How can I change it so it runs 1066? Is it somewhere in the BIOS? *edit* meant to type 1066 |

There may be an option in the BIOS, I know a lot of motherboards that support 1066 RAM need to have it overclocked, so it wouldn't run at that speed without manually changing the settings in the BIOS.

Probably because you need to change a setting from "Auto" to "Manual", I can't say which one though because it various from motherboard to motherboard. Just look for something that may say DRAM Control.

Be wary, my motherboard says it can handle up to 1200 but my ram wont run at 1000 or above without my system randomly restarting. It would also help to get system specs, if you have a dell or a HP or something you may not be able to change that manually.

ok all lets assume the most common thing is happening lol. 1066 reverting to stock settings, which is 800mhz @ 5-5-5-18 1.8V. right? so what you need to do is find out what your voltage should be, set that, then change your timings to the appropriate settings and your speed.
