connect home pc to notebook screen?
does it work both ways or one way or the other? that so i dont have to run outside to the other monitor to test stuff out without messing with cables.

Does your laptop have video in? If not, do you feel like wiring up the video cable to a DVI/DSUB15?
 (if so just pop the chassis and go for it)
