Default Buying a New Laptop

I was looking at the
HP - Pavilion Laptop with Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology -
Model: dv7-1175nr | SKU: 9053007
Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5800; 4GB DDR2 memory; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW with Blu-ray playback; 17" widescreen; 320GB hard drive; built-in webcam; Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP1

Currently I would use the computer for watching videos, Utube stuff, Catching episodes missed on tv, internet, outlook email, excel, and word.

Do you think this computer would be okay? What is the difference between AMD and Intel. How much memory do I need to be able to handle Vista and not be bogged down?
