Default possible hard drive upgrade

ok, so my laptop (acer 5672 WLMI) decided to take a fat turd on my head. the problem seems to be the hard drive, and i need more space anyways so i'm considering starting over. i found in another post that my lappy takes 2.5" sata, sata-150 and MAYBE sata-300 drives, so now i need advice.
i found:

and it looks almost too good to be true. my current one is 5400 and 8mb so i'm psyched on the speed upgrade, and mine's 120 so that'd also be nice, but that seems REALLY cheap. is that brand junk? i'd rather lose features but it last forever than vice versa.
i also found:

same story

so basically, what's a good brand or good drive for me?
thanks in advance. school starts tuesday so quick advice appreciated

p.s.
i know i have to re-install windows, but i don't know how. do i have to buy it again?
