Which Router...

I am thinking of buying a new router. It has to be a wireless router. I'm really not sure what kind of router I need. I've heard that some routers can be horrible for gaming and have issues. Can anyone help me find a router that is perfect for me? Yes, I am a hardcore gamer. Thanks in advance.

I use a Linksys WRT54G, broadcasts in B/G? i believe. Works well when I have friends over for gaming.!
