well, essentially yes. But if you have Windows XP with Service pack 2, then IE and Firefox are quite similar. Firefox has better security and is less likely to crash. Its generally more stable, however some sites (very few) are not compatible with Firefox. Also to view sites that require a plugin (flash, for example) then you have to download those plugins yourself.

![]() i prefer Firefox because it's "tweakable" and i can load webpages 2-3X faster than IE ever could.

I think that in general its easier to use firefox because the interface is brilliant and as above once you get used to it, you can start tweaking firefox to make it work harder for you.

Firefox is the BEST EVER!!! I switched and I've never used internet explorer again.
Just download it and try it. It wont overwrite IE and you can always uninstall it if you don't like it (unlikely).

Im using fire fox and thunderbird, VIVA LA MOZILLA, screw IE and whatever other bullsh*t is out there all you need is firefox. The handy little tabs are ace, skins, seach, the ace safemode, I could go on for hours. I changed to firefox about 8 months ago and havent looked back.

I love firefox also...Ive never had a problem with it...when i used to use IE it used to crash alot and nearly take my computer down with it! I also like how you can alter the settings on firefox, for example how you can speed it up if you have broadband.
