Default Music production Laptop

Hello,

So I have finally decided to get a laptop. My budget is £625 tops. I'll be using this laptop for music production and live DJing. And no, I don't want a mac. I already have a Alesis IO26 firewire soundcard.

Things required in this Laptop:

-Texas Instrument firewire chipset
- 2 ghz processor
-Ram. 2 probably but I can always upgrade to more
- 13"-15" screen

Software I'll be using:

-Ableton
-Traktor

I would preferably have a UK link to a website but I don't mind.

Thanks for any advice.

Laptop I have been looking at

Default Music Recording

Hey,
I am also desperately trying to get a computer to record some music. I don't have any money to spend though. My friend actually got a laptop for free from http://www.GiftMonkey.com/?s=78026 so im going to try that. I'll let you know how it goes... Feel free to try for yourself.

Looks like a bit of an advertisement there. . .

Anyway, why not check ebuyer. You can probably find something with what you're looking for in the sales at the moment. They've got up to 35% off on loads of laptops and stuff.

I also guess that you wanted a dual core 2ghz, or is it just a single you're after? Dual is probably about the same price anyway.
