setting a windows 95 laptop to be able to run on a network

there is all of the options on the laptop to get it running on a network, but it wont connect, i know i may not have given enough information, but this is all i know. also what is "configuration script".

Is this a wired or wireless network you are trying to connect to? Are you sure that your computer is trying to join the network with the right group name (i.e MSHOME, etc..) ?

its a wireless router with space for wired connections, i have sucessfull networked a win 98 comupter wirelessly but i cant figure out in win95 how to set up what network to connect to.
